WHAT A GWAAN?

It’s easy to see that for most people in this world, their lives are rough.

Yet if we lived much better amongst each other, our lives wouldn’t be so tough.

Of the cake, some people took half and come back for quarter, and those are our friends?

We smile up with them and even benefit and have them hanging out on our ends.

I have never seen a man, with a head of horns or thorns committing a crime.

It’s our relatives and friends and we partake instead of making them go do time.

Even the night when they jump the fence and go kill Mr. Joe’s little son.

People were playing blind cause they saw who killed and raped the woman.

This thing of prejudice and bias that we like to call racism and classism:

It’s just a set of sick people with mental issues and given boasty name narcissism.

Tell me which sensible intelligent person would think one race is better than the next

 Such a person is out of his or her mind, and bottom line it is just a pretext.

If you should look across the globe and see what is going on among populations.

You will see the fighting and ethnic cleansing among races and nations.

Governments want to control your body while the church wants to get your mind,

Yet none of them worry about your being hungry, none of them is being kind.

Do you know how many youths while wanting to be rich are killing another youth?

How many of your friends are genuine, standing up for equal rights and truth?

Are you so self centred and thinking about your body, what to eat, how to earn bread?

That you don’t care what’s happening next door if you are alive and not dead.

Take a deep sigh, look into your mind, is your heart cold and your blood hot?

Do you enjoy scamming, damming, and telling your brother things you know are not?

Looking pretty, fancy, and don’t care one bit how you get your ill got gains

For all that matters is your fun and frolic, no empathy for other people’s pains.
